Meet the Program Participants

Simon Timony is the co-founder of Advocates 11, a local nonprofit whose goal was to hit the streets of San Francisco and hand out safety packs to people who needed them; vulnerable members of society who were being subjected to a new wave of constant violent attacks.

Candra Metu is the classical Balinese dance created by the late I Nyoman Kaler in 1935, about a lady who admires the beauty of the moon. The performer is Ratih Ayu Apsari, Berkeley student from Bali. The music is from the recording of Narwastu Group.

Ina Jungin Lee is the founder and owner of Korner Store Bites & Vibes, which recently found its new home in the Excelsior at 4516 Mission Street. www.thekornerstores.com

We provide kids with safe and fun experiences that give them the confidence to learn, explore, grow, and discover their passion. Our mission is to inspire and empower all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring adults.

Performing Arts Workshop is a nonprofit organization established in 1965 with a mission to help young people develop critical thinking, creative expression and essential learning skills through the arts. Today, the Workshop brings sequential arts instruction grounded in inquiry and reflection to more than 4,200 students ages 3-18 each year. Our artists conduct 11-60 session residencies in world dance, music, spoken word poetry, and theater arts.
